The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund is pleased to announce that President and Chief Counsel Charles LiMandri has successfully achieved recertification as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA). LiMandri has been an NBTA member in good standing for 20 years.
Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board certified, and LiMandri is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification.

The rigorous screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must complete includes
- Demonstrating substantial trial experience;
- Submitting judicial and peer references to attest to their competency;
- Attending continuing legal education courses; and
- Proof of good standing in court jurisdictions
LiMandri earned his undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego and his law degree from Georgetown. He is licensed to practice in California, the District of Columbia, New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
The NBTA was formed out of a strong conviction that both the law profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards reflecting an attorney’s experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.
